Artistic Policy
Far Out Theatre are a community based theatre company that create performances which are led by our community and performed for our community .
Our principal aim is to expand the horizons of both our audiences and those involved with each of our projects. We challenge the humdrum aspects of daily life and push the geographical boundaries of imagination by exploring different cultures and other moments in time.
The experience of each individual matters and collaboration is celebrated and encouraged. Whether our work is seen in a large theatre, a tiny school hall or out in the open air, performances are visually stimulating , living works of art , reflecting the talents of professional practitioners and members of the community alike.
Montgomery Hall
Far Out Theatre are currently based at Montgomery Hall, a community centre in Wath-Upon-Dearne, South Yorkshire. The hall has 250 seat theatre and stages a variety of work, including plays, pantomimes, cabaret evenings and live music nights.
Far Out Theatre are honoured to have played an important role in re-establishing the venue as an exciting and creative place to be. Facilities for theatre performances are excellent and Far Out encourages other theatre companies to stage their work there.
Audience numbers at the venue are steadily growing and Montgomery Hall is fast becomimg the place for a good night out in Dearne Valley.

Far Out Theatre is a collective of individuals who are all passionate about and dedicated to creating exciting community theatre.
We are proud to run a democratic organisation where anything and everything is possible and we never turn a prospective member away. Our open door policy means that aspects of our work, such as performing, directing, devising, stage managing and marketing are always shared amongst participants.
