2009 Pantomime
Robin Hood & the Babes in the wood
Far Out Theatre are delighted to announce that their 2009 pantomime will be ROBIN HOOD AND THE BABES IN THE WOOD . Always keen to please their audience, the group undertook a survey during the recent run of Treasure Island to find out what everyone wanted to see next year.
From a choice of three – Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin and Babes – the latter came out on top. Next year's director, Suzy Dix commented:
'
We knew we wanted to do a panto that could have a medieval theme to it and these three shows seemed the most obvious choices. I had my own favourite, as did everyone in the cast but, in my heart of hearts, I think that Babes in the Wood will be the right show for us!'
With more and more pantomimes visiting the Dearne Valley , it will be even more essential for Far Out to get their panto formula just right. However, given how much Far Out has continued to grow, year after year, the members are confident that Babes will be their best show yet. Planning for the production is already in its early stages and Far Out hope to run auditions during August, with rehearsals starting in September. So, if you fancy yourself as a Robin Hood, Maid Marion or one of the Merry Men, get in touch!

£7,000 Funding for Panto' Production
Far Out Theatre are thrilled to announce that they have been awared £7,000 to produce their pantomime, Treasure Island. The grant from South Yorkshire Community Foundation, will mean that Far Out will not only be able to produce a truly magical and exhilarating show, but will also be able to run a series of drama and music based workshops to coincide with the event.
Sessions such as costume making and African dance have already been planned for the young cast members and we are looking forward to exploring other workshop ideas.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank South Yorkshire Community Foundation and their Local Network Fund for Children and Young People for ongoing support.

Far Out Theatre are delighted to announce that their Spring 2008 performance will be brand-new version of the Arabian Nights.
Thanks to a generous grant of £10,000 from the National Lottery, the show promises to be Far Out's most lavish and exciting to date.
